A four-page special report about the CyWee Z appeared in the December 8, 2008, edition of DigiTimes:

The CyWee Z is a revolutionary 3-D motion-sensor controller that acts as both a gaming device and a 3-D mouse. As a gaming device, it leverages the power and flexibility of the PC and the internet to process the gaming content. The advantage of the Z is that the traditional gaming console is no longer required which lowers the cost of entry and choice limitations of console-specific games. As a wireless 3-D mouse it frees the user from the confines of a chair and desk, allowing computer navigation in 3-D space.
In addition to the standard three-axis accelerometer that is necessary in any space-motion sensor, the CyWee Z is the first of its kind that has a built-in two-axis gyroscope, which allows for a true one-to-one response for any body movement. This technology redefines how games can be played, making the digital experience more real and interactive.
CyWee also merges ground-breaking technology with excellent ergonomics, proven by the user-friendly Z that is comfortable and easy to use even over an extended period of time. It has also offers the user not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR modes of play in a single controller!

In its "stick" position, it acts as a tennis racket, golf club, etc.

With a simple twist, the Z transforms into a gun-controller for shooting and combat games.

Rotating the Z to an inverted-"Z" position transforms it into a steering wheel for racing games and, depending on what angle you hold it at, turns you into a fighter-pilot in aviation games!
A plug-and-play multi-functional 3-D space controller, bundled with three PC games (“Virtua Tennis 3″ by SEGA, “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08″ by EA Sports, and “Crashday” by Atari), is now retailing at NT$3990 (approx US$120) at PChome.
By the end of this week, CyWee will be releasing a Software Developer Kit (SDK) that will allow users to map their own personal favorite PC or on-line games to their CyWee Z! Say sayonara to your wires, chunky keyboard and mouse!
